FRIENDS
Social networking, when used for social networking, is so amazing. Take for example last week. I was perusing on Instagram when a friend of mine posted a photo with the caption “At the grand opening for my friend’s store”. The picture featured what appeared to be a men’s clothing store. Two things caught my attention. 1) the clothing, for what I could make out, looked like decent clothing. No studded rockstar jeans, no gaudy “swag” t-shirts. 2) because of #1, I was almost positive this wasn’t in New Orleans or Louisiana at all for that matter. Why? Because for some reason, the men’s stores in Louisiana are for the most part way behind the curve.
But I was wrong and after getting the information about the spot, I found my way over during some free time in order check the shop out. Located at 2115 Magazine Street, FRIEND is a nice change of scenery for the New Orleans men’s clothing environment. Featuring brands like Burkman Bros. and Saturdays, the shop offers a well crafted selection of items that are both casual and timeless. The owner (and retail specialist the day I happened to pass through) Parker, is a class act guy. A Louisiana native recently returned from the other Metropolitan supercities of America, he has returned to New Orleans to give us FRIEND. Stop by and check it out when you’re in New Orleans, browsing down Magazine Street, or in the need of some new fine threads.

Is there anything else to say except GO GET’EM KID! 3 games in a row now. Consider me officially a fan.
Project Sole
Our homie Blaine has put together a charity event that will be held on March 2nd in Baton Rouge. It’s simple, donate sneakers to those less fortunate. New, old, doesn’t matter as long as they’re wearable. If you need to contact him for more info, the best way would probably be to reach out to him on Twitter (ole_Blaine). Seriously, if you find yourself with more than 10 sneakers in your closet, I think you can afford to give away your least favorite, least worn pair.
Super Sunday
I love football, I love the Super Bowl, and I love championship games in general… but with my Saints blowing their waltz into the Super Bowl (and then onto blowing out the Giants and Patriots in the process) I’m somewhat uninterested in this year’s big game. However, I’ve seen a few commercials (you know, the other thing the Super Bowl is known for) that will be aired that night that have caught my eye as well. So I thought I’d share them with you guys. Enjoy and as always, be cool.

as always, be cool.
Lost and found
While cleaning up around the office, so to speak, I found the last of our original stickers from way back in 2007. While it seems like yesterday, I realized 2007 was half a decade ago. There wasn’t many and I’ve already had to give away a few dozen but I’m going to ship out a few with every order from here until we run out. Consider it something old with something new.
as always, be cool.
oooooooooooh yeah
Where do we come from…
We’ve all got a past, us included, and that past strongly influenced our most recent collection of goods.
To giveaway a little bit of the magic and secrets behind the curtain, bsbcbu is run by two graduates of Louisiana State University, better known for tailgating and TIGER football. (Ironically enough, our buddy over at dope. Courtney is a fellow Tiger).
I know you’ve guys have probably seen a dozen or so brands do the “pattern pocket t-shirt” in the last few months or so (seems to be the new simple cut/sew craze), but I swear this idea came to us over a few beers about a year ago when we were talking about how much we love pocket t-shirts. For me, I just always remember my Dad having them, as far back as keeping his pocket knife in his pocket when I was a kid to most recently how his small Samsung is always there.
For us, me particular, pocket t-shirts aren’t coming or going. I’ll probably always wear them. And I’ve been dying to test the waters with cut/sew so this seemed like a simple no-brainer, after the custom headwear we’ve done the last few drops.
The Long Sleeve Pocket T-Shirt is now available in the online store (shop.bsbcbu.com) in both white and heather grey.
as always, be cool.
